Duncan's own experience of beating Alcohol with Speaker. Author. Morris Dancer Duncan Bhaskaran Brown

Welcome to the Wellbeing and Career World Podcast! Today, we’re diving into how to boost your energy, amp up your productivity, strengthen your relationships, and really enjoy life. Meet Duncan—a man who spent 20 years overdoing it, then turned things around. He trained with the world's top stop-smoking service, studied at Cornell and the Chartered Management Institute, and even wrote a couple of books, including Real Men Quit. But that wasn't enough. Now, he's interviewing sober superstars and taking on research projects (yes, some involve watching TV). But what will be enough? Maybe when alcohol-free living becomes the new normal. Until then, Duncan’s on a mission—and we’re here for it.

On today's podcast we will be chatting about Duncan's own experience of beating Alcohol

Duncan answers some of the questions below or answers questions as part of the conversation.

What was the turning point in your journey that made you realize it was time to quit alcohol? Can you share some of the early challenges you faced when you first decided to stop drinking? How did your training with the stop-smoking service influence your approach to quitting alcohol? What role did your studies at Cornell and the Chartered Management Institute play in your recovery process? You’ve written books about quitting alcohol—how did writing about your experiences help you stay on track? What strategies or techniques worked best for you in maintaining sobriety, especially in the early days? How did alcohol impact your relationships, and how have they changed since becoming alcohol-free? What are some myths about quitting alcohol that you’d like to debunk based on your own experience? How do you stay motivated to remain sober, especially when faced with social pressures or stress? What advice would you give to someone who’s thinking about quitting alcohol but isn’t sure where to start?
